This is an ongoing portrait series that seeks to differentiate between capturing the likeness of a person in a single moment to capturing sixteen separate aspects of the same person compounded into one image. The subject is first photographed simply, a “normal” portrait so to speak. The subject is then asked to answer questions based on a basic psychological profile questionnaire. As the subject answers a question, another photograph is taken, with all exposures made on the same sheet of film. Part of the goal here is to show a personal depth in a way we normally can’t physically see. Another part is to contrast that depth with how we would normally see a portrait of the same person.
